This program is a philanthropy and leadership learning experience for sophomores, juniors, and seniors from each of the 8 schools in our service area (Middletown, Edgewood, Franklin, Madison, Marshall, Fenwick, Middletown Christian, and Monroe). Each month during the academic year students meet at the foundation or at local nonprofit organizations to learn about community issues, how nonprofits respond to needs, volunteering, careers in nonprofit organizations, and how to have the greatest impact with their grantmaking dollars. Pathways to Home is a nonprofit agency, founded in 1989 as Services to Area Youth, with the mission of assisting young, first-time mothers. Help the Animals, Inc. (Humane Existence for Lost Pets) maintains a no-kill shelter, providing a home for lost or abandoned dogs and cats that are sometimes victims of cruelty, abuse, and/or neglect. Camp Joy has been changing lives for more than 82 years by providing camp experiences to economically disadvantaged youth, foster youth, and children with medical and special needs. By bringing children with similar challenges together, we create moments of joy amidst their hardships. The focus of our philanthropy is to support children in need, helping them grow and go back to their communities as leaders who will make the world a better place. Circle U Help Center is a non-profit organization that serves over 1600 hot meals monthly. Including delivered meals to homebound individuals. Circle U Help Center has been serving the local community since 1979.  At the present time, we are serving over 1,600 hot meals on a monthly basis. Included in this total are over 60 meals that are delivered each  Saturday to those people who are homebound. We currently serve on  Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays and our Food Pantry operates the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.

Veterinary Science prepares students to enter the field of veterinary medicine and the animal industry. Students will have the opportunity to assist practicing veterinarians with treatment procedures, prepare facilities and equipment for small animal surgery, administer nutritional diets for common small domesticated animals, maintain and interpret animal health records, perform laboratory tests on small animals and assist with veterinary office and hospital administration. View More


The Harrison Mayor's Fund is a charitable organization dedicated to helping those in need of financial assistance in the greater Harrison community. The Mayor's Fund assists citizens in a variety of ways. With the assistance of Christ of Loving Hands (another charitable organization in the community) the Fund provides grocery vouchers, food pantry items, Duke Energy bill assistance, and occasionally rent payments. During the holiday season, the Mayor's Fund, together with the various local churches and schools, provides assistance in the form of food, clothing, winter coats and toys to hundreds of families. The Gateway Hunger Relief Center is a community food pantry in Richmond, IN. We are a 501-c-3 that serves all that come to us in need on two days every week. This is how we work to provide our customers with the food they need. In 2024, we served food to approximately 14,000 customers and their families.

The Jessamine County Food Pantry has been serving Jessamine County residents since 2004 by providing food to those who need it most. We serve an average of over 300 households each month, and in 2020 we distributed more than 300,000 pounds of food to our neighbors in need. The food insecurity continues to grow, and we are dedicated to assisting every Jessamine County household we can reach.
